Carsaregrowingtobemobilesmartdevicesanddigitalspacesinsteadofbeingasimplemeansoftransportation,andnewenergyvehiclesareanessentialdirectionforthedevelopmentoftheautomobileindustry.Gongsaid,“Shanghaiattachesgreatimportancetoitandisacceleratingthedevelopmentofanewenergyvehicledevelopmenthighlandwithglobalinfluence.”
Inrecentyears,Shanghaihasintroducedseveralsupportpoliciesfromboththesupplyanddemandendsandwillissuestrategies,likebuildinginfrastructuresuchaschargingstations.Gongsaid,“Manynewenergyvehiclesareintelligentnetworkedvehicles.Sincethesecondhalfoflastyear,thechipshortageofsmartcarshasbeenverysevere.Shanghaiwillputmoreeffortintoproducingautomotive-gradeMCUtosolvethechipshortageproblem.”
Shanghaisnewenergyvehicleindustryhasenteredanewstageofrapidgrowth.Lastyear,theoutputvalueexceededRMBbillion($25.26billion),ayear-on-yearincreaseof%;theoutputreached,vehicles,ayear-on-yearincreaseof70%;newenergyvehiclesinusenumberedintotalmorethan,,ofwhichmorethan,weresoldlastyear,accountingfor43%ofcarsales.
ShanghaiisalsothecitywiththelargestnumberofnewenergyvehiclesinChina.Itsgoalistoproducemorethan1.2millionnewenergyvehiclesinthecityby,withanoutputvalueexceedingRMBbillion($55.26billion),andtobuildachargingnetworkthatcanmeettheneedsofmorethan1.25millionelectricvehicles.
